Route

We plan to drive from Trafalgar Square to Tiananmen Square via:

Channel tunnel France then Belgium, Germany, Austria, Hungary, Romania (including Transylvania), Bulgaria, Turkey (Istanbul, through the mountains to the Black Sea coast), Georgia, Azerbaijan then by ferry across the Caspian sea to Turkmenistan where we hope to drive across the desert to Darvaza, Uzbekistan (Bokhara, Samarkand and Tashkent), Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan along the Pamir highway which looks stunning, and into China where we are planning to take the Southern silk road through the Taklamakan desert, up to Dunhuang then to Xian (Terracotta army) then north east to ultimately reach Beijing at the end of August. Quite a trip!
